Welcome to Mess on my Vanity
A space where I, Amanda, shamelessly express my passions, thoughts and imperfect experiences with all of you!
So who am I?
Amanda Noelle Nahas. 26 years young. I was born, raised and still live in Halifax, NS although I often crave the big city life. I am of Lebanese descent and the oldest grandchild on both sides of my family. Next-level oldest child syndrome…lol.
After completing my BCOMM in Marketing and HR, I still didn’t really know where I was going and who I wanted to become. All I knew for certain was that my infatuation with fashion/affordable luxury was real and my singing dreams felt far-fetched.
At 23 I married the love of my life and decided I was “ready” to enter motherhood shortly after – bringing me my little diva, Jade. This new identity has tested my patience and pushed all of my limits. I could not love her and this life any more, but I must admit, I felt like the odd one out being the first in my friend group to have a baby. The guinea pig, if you will. She has taught me more about myself than I ever could have on my own.
What is behind the name “Mess on my Vanity”?
In true Amanda fashion, this came to me in the shower; I often have people saying they wish they were more put together, “like me”. Well folks, before you read any more, I’m here to tell you that this could not be further from the truth; My shit is far from together and I am a hot mess.
Why am I writing this blog?
Having started my Instagram account (formerly known as stylebyamandanoelle) over three years ago, I realized that there was more to my love of fashion than merely style; it is the ability to represent yourself through what you wear. I have built relationships with not only style and beauty enthusiasts, but devoted mothers who are striving to find balance in life to love themselves, their child(ren) and partner. After one year of motherhood and three years of insta-blogging, I have decided to turn this hobby into a true passion project. I have finally pulled up my big girl pants, put my fears aside and have taken the leap of faith in this whole blogging world and make up artistry profession.
The mission of my blog is much deeper than reviewing beauty products, talking motherhood, make up, and fashion trends. Through these passions, I am looking to empower anyone and everyone to try different things, to be limitless, to represent themselves inside-out, to find their balance and embrace their uniqueness. I am all about exploring creativity, working to feel my best and making others feel their best too. Despite our differences, we are all on our very own soul-searching paths. I live to make people feel their absolute best, inside-out.
Thanks for reading along and joining me on this journey! I can’t wait to learn with all of you.
One last thing: Don’t expect everything to be perfectly curated. I’ll be wearing my imperfections loud and proud.
